Devoted to Burgundian varietals, the Keller family crafts benchmark Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris reflective of Baden’s most acclaimed
vineyard sites.

Inspired by the great wines of Burgundy’s finest crus, Franz Keller began making dry, barrel-aged wines at his family’s small Baden winery more than a half-century ago. Grown on the mineral-rich, volcanic slopes of the Kaiserstuhl region, in Germany’s warm southwest corner, Keller’s sensational Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris carved out new stylistic territory for German varietals and earned the Keller estate an international reputation as “the jewel of Kaiserstuhl.” A member of the prestigious VDP association since 2014, the winery is run jointly today by Franz’s son and grandson, Fritz and Friedrich Keller. Today, they make expressive, estate-grown wines that have become archetypal examples of world-class German wine.

Coming soon, this small production, special cuvée, is a collaboration between Black Stallion Estate Winemaker Ralf Holdenried and Consulting Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown.

Gaspare “Jasper” Indelicato arrived from Italy in 1911, bringing a tradition of grape growing. With his brother-in-law, “Sam”, he founded the Sam Jasper Winery in 1935, drawing on fruit in their first vineyard planted in California. Since then, each generation has worked hard to continue what he started. This special cuvée represents a tribute to Gaspare and is bottled with love and respect by the family in appreciation of a legacy built by the generations who came before.
